Give a Kid a Book!
Kids Ferst in Gilmer is Ellijay, Georgia's chapter of the Ferst Readers literacy program. Our volunteers register children to receive age appropriate books from birth to age 5 at no cost to the child's family.
Every dollar donated is used to ensure children enrolled in the Ferst Readers program receive their age-specific, bookstore-quality book mailed to their home. Each book comes with a parent's newsletter containing reading guides and activities to make reading fun.
Your tax deductible donation will make a difference in a child's future.
Parents and teachers confirm that kids in the Ferst Readers program become better students, better overall learners, and better contributors to their own education and ultimately their community.
You can help create better learners, brighter futures, and a stronger community by giving every child under five access to quality books in their homes.
